Airfest 2009.

Sometime last week, Hector was looking at YouTube videos of planes, as he always does. Somehow, he found himself on a website advertising the Southern Wisconsin Airfest 2009, which just happened to be the upcoming Sunday. I was apprehensive not only to spend money on tickets to something I clearly do not share the same level of passion, but also to agree to wake up at 5:30AM in order to get up in time to drive the 2 hours and make it there by 9AM - on our only day off out of the entire week. But, somehow he talked me into it..

I have to admit that I had a LOT more fun than I had originally thought I would. The show included the Blue Angels, an elite group of pilots who demonstrate naval aviation in airshows across the country. Also featured were the Army's Golden Knights, a group of military parachute jumpers, the Navy Leapfrogs, Patty Wagstaff, Greg Poe, Michael Wiskus, Susan Dacy, a shockwave jet truck demonstration, and an F-16 Fighting Falcon "Viper" demo.

Our favorite was most definitely the Blue Angels. They were just so awesome. Our second favorite was the F-16 demonstration. Now I know why America is the most powerful nation in the world! The F-16 is a fighter jet that can go TWICE the speed of sound. The shockwave jet truck was also pretty freakin' awesome!

Here are some pictures from the show!

So, we got ourselves "involved," as my family would put it. But it seriously was time for Hector to get something new!! The funny part is that I can't even drive it since it is a manual transmission. But not to worry, Hector is teaching me! :)

I caved.

Yes, I finally gave in to the pressure to join the crowd and start a blog. They just look so fun! And very cutesy. I'm not going to promise great words of wisdom nor daily posts, but we shall see what comes of it. And I seriously doubt Hector will ever post on here, but who knows?

Well, I suppose some "catch up" needs to be played here. So, Hector and I are now living in Wisconsin working for Pinnacle Security for the summer. I am the Office Manager, and Hector is Personal Assistant to the Area Office Sales Manager. I
t's a pretty sweet deal that we have going on here. We are really enjoying the change of scenery. Rexburg was growing old! Here are a few pictures that we took of a beautiful rainbow we saw outside our apartment last week:

So breathtakingly beautiful.

Also, we have recently had an addition to our family. We found him on Craigslist and Hector had him named before we even called to see if he was still available. We got him when he was barely 4 weeks old. He's the love of our lives. Even Hector's, if you can believe it!!! Everyone, meet "Boots!"

Who couldn't fall in love with that face?

Boots in his favorite spot - Hector's shoulder.

First day at home. He is meowing here, not laughing. :)

We just HAD to. :D
